GEORGE EDWARD CAMPBELL
Born in Winnipeg, son to Alvin and Maude. Survived by his loving wife Catherine (Sheba Hanesiak); four children, Georgina, Alan (Sandy), David (Cindy), Douglas (Angie); five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and brothers, Norval (Beausejour) and Earl (Nanaimo) and his sister Stella (Toronto).
After finishing studies at Gordon Bell High School, George joined the Canadian National Railroad where he trained as a draftsman, a skill he used well into his later years. During his decades long career with CNR, he rose to become the Regional Manager (Real Estate) for the Prairie region. He was instrumental in developing the TD buildings in Winnipeg's downtown core.
Upon retirement, he moved to Eastern Ontario to be closer to his children. George was devoted to his family and he enjoyed watching his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren live healthy and happy lives. George's other passions included his cats and prize winning roses.
George was an honest, hard-working resourceful man. His gentle spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Lanark Animal Welfare Society would be greatly appreciated.
